Double Degree Ingenium

The “G. d’Annunzio” University of Chieti-Pescara and the Gheorghe Asachi Technical University of Iasi, Romania, signed a cooperation agreement in the framework of Ingenium Alliance for the establishment of a Masters Double Degree in Civil & Building Engineering based on the Master’s in Civil Engineering - Rehabilitation and safety increase of construction (IASI) and the Master’s in Building Engineering – Engineering and Management of Cultural Heritage (UdA).


Application

The “G. d’Annunzio” University of Chieti-Pescara will recruit up to 5 students to participate in this programme.

Candidates (students of the first years) must submit a manifestation of interest to begin the recruitment procedure. This application request must be sent to the Master's degree coordinator Prof. Alessandro Pagliaroli (alessandro.pagliaroli@unich.it) attaching the following documents:

  • Curriculum vitae (C.V.);
  • Motivation letters.
  • Bachelor diploma
  • Transcript of the first year
  • Passport/identity card
  • Language certification (if available)

The recruitment procedure is carried out by a Selection Committee composed of Prof. A. Pagliaroli (Master’s degree course coordinator) and another faculty member. The candidates will then participate to an online interview conducted in English language with a designated committee from the Gheorghe Asachi Technical University.

Students will pay tuition fees to their home institution during the exchange period. No fees are due to the host university.

Application should be submitted in July-September to be able to continue the education program at the Gheorghe Asachi Technical University of Iasi during the 2nd year first semester.

 In addition to Erasmus fundings, Scholarships from Ingenium network are available for students of Double Degree.


Programme

To obtain this Master Double Degree, students must be enrolled in the master’s programme at their home institution and are required to spend one semester at the host institution, earning no fewer than 30 ECTS. All courses included in this agreement will be taught in English.

For students enrolled at the “G. d’Annunzio” University of Chieti-Pescara, the semester spent at the host institution will take place in the first semester of the second year. During this period, students will attend four courses.

Each institution will fully recognise the ECTS credits earned at the partner institution, allowing students to accumulate the 120 ECTS required to obtain the Master’s degree from both universities.

The Master’s thesis will be prepared under the supervision of a tutor from the home institution, with the support of a supervisor from the host institution. The thesis will be written in English, and the defence will also be conducted in English. The thesis defence will take place at the home university, with the participation of the supervisor from the host university, either in person or through interactive remote/online attendance.
